This Tuesday, November 29, 2022
We hope you had a lovely holiday.
Earlier this week, we gave you a behind-the-scenes look at our stewardship of the collections under our care as Center for Jewish History Book Conservator, Lyudmyla Babadzhanova, demonstrated the conservation process on three 19th and 20th century Thanksgiving sermons from the AJHS collections.
Next week, on Tuesday, November 29, we’re putting on a special Giving Tuesday Edition of Live From the Archives! Join Melanie Meyers, Chair of Collections and Engagement, and Tamar Zeffren, Director of Archival Partnerships, at noon on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2022, for an exploration of the history of American Jewish philanthropy through the lens of relevant collections at the American Jewish Historical Society which illuminate the fascinating and complex chronicle of charitable giving in the United States.
If you’d like to support the American Jewish Historical Society in other ways, we’re thrilled to announce that AJHS is officially participating in Amazon Smile, a program which allows you to support the non-profit of your choice during your everyday shopping. When you select AJHS as your non-profit of choice, Amazon donates 0.5% of every purchase you make via either smile.amazon.com or on the Smile-enabled mobile app directly to our organization. Start here; select “start shopping,” and Amazon will help you select AJHS as your preferred charity. If you prefer to shop via mobile app, be sure to enable Amazon Smile before you shop.
Finally, we’re also posting adorable Thanksgiving photographs from our collections on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram all week, so be sure to take a look!
