Program Recap: They Fight With Cameras Talkback

April 22, 2026
by Rebeca Miller

This program originally took place in person on Thursday April 23rd at 6:30pm Eastern.

Julie Salamon, New York Times best-selling author and journalist, facilitated a conversation with filmmakers Nina Rosenblum and Daniel Allentuck on their World War II documentary feature, They Fight With Cameras. The film centers on U.S. Army Signal Corps combat cameraman Walter Rosenblum who stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day, filmed the brutal Allied advance across France and Germany, weathered a bitter winter campaign, and was among the first Americans to document the liberation of Dachau. Included in the film are rarely seen photographs and rediscovered combat footage, as well as voice over interpretation of Rosenblum’s letters home.

Special thanks to Edwin Schloss and the Schloss Family Foundation.
