On January 19th 2023 Julie Salamon sat down with Michael Kimmelman, architecture critic for The New York Times and author of his new book An Intimate City.  In this program Michael discussed the way he approached writing his new book; a collection of different walking tours though the neighborhoods of New York City during the Covid-19 pandemic.  We hear how Michael shifted the tone of architecture reporting at the Times, his experience as a prodigy piano player, his beloved piano teacher, and relationship with his family.  Michael shares what he believes to be the most comforting thing about New York; we can always depend on it to change.
