The first time I moved to the US was in July 1980. My Father was at that time working as a Foreign Correspondent for a Swedish newspaper and he had already been in New York for a year and a half when my Mom, sister and I joined him. After two years, we moved back to Sweden. A year later, I returned to the US and New York by myself. I worked as an au pair for a year before starting my studies. I became a resident alien via an immigration lottery in 1989 and a citizen in 2006.
